Sponsorship of Kent Spitfires Study Centre 2008-2009
Invicta IT Solutions were kindly invited to the annual business luncheon held by the Kent Spitfire Study Centre. We were highly motivated by the speakers and what the project is about and agreed to sponsor the centre.
The Study Centre is based in the Kent Cricket Academy building at the St Lawrence Cricket Ground in Canterbury, which is home to Kent County Cricket Club. The Centre is funded by three different organisations, namely The Kent County Cricket Club, Kent County Council and The Department for Education, therefore bears no cost to the families or the schools.
The scheme falls under the "Playing for Success" initiative. Every 6 weeks 14 children from four selected schools attend the centre and partake in a number of fun and motivational activities. The programme uses sport as a motivating factor and aims to improve attainment in English, mathematics and ICT, as well as developing self-esteem and confidence.
